He is an icon of the Rock world: the legendary song writer, bassist, pianist and singer Jack Bruce. In 2006 at the 37th German Jazz Festival Frankfurt, he joined forces with the hr-Bigband to perform a highly acclaimed concert, presenting classic Cream songs and other landmarks of his career in gripping new arrangements. It was a magic moment of dialogue between Jazz and Rock that roamed between composition, improvisation and vibrant, virtuoso performances. The hr-Bigband is one of the most innovative German jazz ensembles of our times. Its imaginative programmes, quality musicians and high-profile projects have raised the Big Band of the Hessischer Rundfunk (German Public Radio of Hesse) to the Champions League of large ensemble jazz music and has set new musical standards. From Swing to the Avant Garde, it covers the entire spectrum of Jazz, as well as crossing over into Classical, Pop and World music. Together, projects with talented young musicians and international stars, concerts performances, radio broadcasts and CD recordings make up what the hr-Bigband is today. The band's days as a »radio dance orchestra« have long past. Today, the hr-Bigband is a celebrated guest at numerous jazz festivals, and itself invites international jazz stars to perform, driving the development of Big Band music forward with commissions for compositions and arrangement. Thanks to their regular, intensive collaboration to create a tight, homogenous sound ensemble, the hr-Bigband's musicians are ready for any challenge. As the Chief Conductor of the hr-Bigband, Keller introduced a programme diversity and level of perfection that requires absolute dedication from his musicians. He has also managed to enhance his profile as an arranger with excellent adaptations. Despite his unbending perfectionism, he never forgets that for listeners to enjoy music, the musicians must enjoy playing it.

"Before the world heard of KISS, the New York Dolls, Marilyn Manson, or Ozzy Osbourne, there was Alice Cooper, the original shock-rock band." -Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
As teenagers in Phoenix, Dennis Dunaway, bassist and co-songwriter for the Alice Cooper group, and lead singer Vince Furnier (who would later change his name to Alice Cooper) formed a hard-knuckles band that played prisons, cowboy bars, and teens clubs. Their wild, impossible journey took them from Hollywood to the ferocious Detroit music scene, and along the way they discovered the utterly original performance style and look that would make them the stuff of legend.
Speaking out for the first time about his adventures in the Alice Cooper group, Dunaway reveals a band that was obsessed with topping themselves, with their increasingly outlandish shows and ever-blackening reputation. Dunaway takes readers into back rooms, behind brainstorming sessions, and into the most exclusive parties of the 1970s, revealing the talent, drama, and characters that drove two teenagers to create what would become America's highest-grossing act.
From struggling for recognition to topping the charts with a string of hits including "I'm Eighteen," "School's Out," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy," the Alice Cooper group was entertaining, outrageous, and one of a kind.
Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs! is a riveting account of the band's creation in the '60s, their strange glory in the '70s, and the legendary characters they met along ... more

Praise for Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs!

“I still consider Dennis Dunaway to be one of my best friends. Dennis is one of the few true surrealists that I've ever met….This book carries on in Dennis' own private surrealistic world.” —Alice Cooper
“If you think you've heard all the Alice Cooper stories, think again...Though Alice was the iconic face of the band, Dunaway was the brains behind many of their best-known songs...It's safe to say that, without Dunaway, the group's now-legendary look and sound would have been vastly different. There might not even have been an Alice Cooper.” —Village Voice
“Dennis vividly details in the first person how the Alice cooperative of five endearingly misfit pioneering adolescents put the Woodstock generation to rest.” —Huffington Post
“A wonderfully detailed memoir” —Connecticut Post
“An informative, entertaining, and surprisingly cheerful work. The pacing is fast, the chronology is tight, and the balance of personal, professional, and cultural details is spot on... Dunaway's upbeat tone and flair for storytelling lift this work a step above the average musical memoir” —Library Journal
“A visit to the magical, blood-spattered world of the Alice Cooper Group, courtesy of Dunaway, the band's bassist, co-songwriter and "theatrical conceptionalist."... the book is more than just an homage to his old friend; it's a love letter to an era... An affectionate, sharp-eyed memoir.” —Kirkus Reviews

Review by Joe Viglione

Live at Shea Stadium, 1982 is a very special Who document, entertaining and inspiring on many levels. So allow this writer a little artistic license to give you an overview of this classic moment in rock and roll history, beautifully filmed, restored and packaged by Eagle Vision.
The late Jo Jo Laine said “I was with Keith Moon the night that he died.”  It was, of course, the infamous Buddy Holly film preview of September 6, 1978 after the release of Who Are You.  With Moon diminishing and the Who not as energetic – 1975’s “Squeeze Box” a true low for the group, the antithesis of the brilliant “Join Together,” the group was already, in this critic’s mind, moving far from the magic.  Moon’s passing on September 7 was the line in the sand.
Throughout any tragedy survivors must move on, and like Ron Wood joining the Rolling Stones, Kenny Jones joining the Who was more about camaraderie than actual chemistry. - review

On 29 June 2015, Eagle Rock Entertainment release LIVE AT SHEA STADIUM 1982 by The Who on DVD, SD Blu-ray and digital formats.  The set list on this amazing show features both classic tracks and rarely performed songs and includes: ‘Pinball Wizard’, ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’, ‘My Generation’, ‘Substitute’, ‘Who Are You’, ‘I Can’t Explain’, ‘See Me Feel Me’, ‘Baba O’Riley’ and many more. Although a couple of tracks have appeared on compilations, this is the first official release of the full show and features restored footage and newly mixed sound.

The Who’s 1982 tour, which was all in North America apart from two warm-up dates at the Birmingham NEC in England, was their last to feature Kenney Jones on drums and the band did not tour again until 1989. The tour promoted the recent IT’S HARD album, which had been released in June 1982, and the set list included a number of tracks from that album, some of which the band would only play live on this tour. This concert film features the show from the second of their two nights at New York’s Shea Stadium and was filmed on 13 October 1982.
